Our beloved OES Bruce recently passed away from complications of osteosarcoma. Bruce came to live at our house in February of 2009 at the age of 8 years old. We were the 3rd house he had lived in and he was given up because of a divorce situation. We’ve owned several OESs over the past 30 years, but Bruce was by far the happiest dog we had ever experienced. He was fun, goofy, well mannered and had a really good heart. His zest for life was unsurpassed and he brought joy to our family every day he was with us.
Bruce would find a bone that he had chewed on for months and would act like it was the first time he had ever seen it. He would throw the bone in the air, jump up and down, smile and look at us like he was so thankful that he found this bone just waiting for him. That goofball dog could make us laugh! He was especially close to the men in the family and would not leave Nick or Hank’s side if they were home.
He was much loved and will never be forgotten.
