Owned, trained, and handled first OES bitch in the world to obtain Utility Degree in obedience competition. BoPeep is written up in several books pertaining to OES.

Bred 19 Champion OES under the “Ambelon” prefix. Sold every puppy with a strict hip, eye, and take-back contract. Owner handled two-time Best of Breed winner at New England Old English Sheepdog Club (NEOESC) Specialty, the second time from the Veteran Class.

Provided weekly “Open House” for any OES owner to bring their dog to grooming and training with hands-on supervision.

4H Leader in Dog Program 1964 – 1970

Professor 1974 – 75 at Holliston Jr. College teaching: Kennel Management, Grooming, Show handling, Obedience, Conformation

12+ years professional groomer all breeds – specializing in difficult to handle dogs – including OES. Provided specialized long-term boarding during grooming career. Shipped OES to foreign countries (Japan, Iran) as contracted for their owners.

Taught group obedience classes and individual training, 1965 – ongoing.

Attended numerous seminars on canine behavior and obedience problems with such specialists as Amy Marder, DVM; Michael Fox, DVM; Jennifer Kesner. Worked with Dr. Nick Dodman of Tufts; Dr. Amy Marder and Dr. Schunk of Angel Memorial Hospital and J. Livingston.

Attended seminars related to Pet Therapy with Leo K. Bustad, DVM; Alan M. Back, Sc.D; Aaron Honori Katcher, MD.

Engaged in Pet Therapy visitations in nursing homes and in the hospice setting. Lectured on same to several groups. Long-time member of DELTA Society.

Attended 3 annual all-day seminars on Rescue Programs sponsored by the Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue, Inc.

Founded a Rescue Program which was officially turned over to the NEOESC in 19734. Chaired NEOESC Rescue Committee for 20+ years; followed written, strict rules and procedures. Placed first Rescue dog, Charlie, in 1964.

Lectured to All Breed Clubs and Specialty clubs on how to set up a Rescue Program based on ours.

Served on OESCA Welfare Committee to set up National OES Rescue Program. Continued in advisory capacity.

Appeared on several television programs including a feature segment on “Evening Magazine”, and “Littlest Hobos”.

Made myself available to answer thousands of telephone questions regarding OES care, behavior, breeding, etc., and supervised placement of over 900 unwanted OES.
