Hagrid is a 4-year-old, 87-pound Old English Sheepdog with a heart as big as his paws. His foster mom says he’s incredibly smart, eager to please, and quick to learn new things

This handsome boy is house-trained, and already knows several commands like “sit,” “down,” “wait,” “go lay down,” and even “circle.” He’ll sometimes humor you with “come” and “stay” too! He is still very much a big puppy and loves to play! He is gentle with his mouth and takes food ever so gently from your hand.

Hagrid enjoys quiet walks away from cars and people, especially with his gentle leader face harness. He’s working on staying calm around passing cars and strangers and making great progress with positive based training.

Hagrid is looking for an adult only home with a large fenced in yard in a quiet, rural setting. He is anxious when he sees people that he does not know, and vehicles passing by and will let you know this. He is working on gradually getting used to these things with positive based training. He thinks that one on one training is so much fun and is doing very well.

Hagrid is friendly and respectful with other dogs. He is a very sweet and loving dog.  And yes — he has a silly side! This boy adores peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and has been known to swipe one off the table if you’re not looking.

Hagrid will do best in a home that has the time to spend training him and giving him the one-on-one attention he needs to teach him how to become a good gentleman in public. 

Requirements: Hagrid will need a  securely fenced yard  to give him a safe place to run and play as he continues to grow into the incredible companion he’s destined to be.
