VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Our volunteers have a passion for Old English Sheepdogs and make a sincere commitment working to save and improve the lives of the animals we serve.

To all of you who volunteer, Thank You.  We couldn't do it without you. You really DO make a difference.

We always need volunteers to do the many things need to keep NEOESR operating and allow us to take in, foster, treat and adopt our beloved bobtails. We need people to transport dogs, foster dogs, organize events, and many other critical tasks. We have all types of projects big and small. Some only require a little time (1-2 hours), others more.  Do you have time to help us for an hour or two a month?  Or more?   Contact our volunteer coordinator via email at volunteer@neoesr.org

Note: NEOESR does not have a kennel. All of the dogs in our rescue programs are in foster homes.

Tales' End - Around the Block Editor

The Tale's End needs your help! We are looking for an editor for the TE's new Around The Block and Birthdays columns, formerly known as Emails and Updates. Editor must be computer, internet and grammatically literate, Microsoft Word savvy and be able to meet quarterly deadlines. Time to read the OES-L list, communicate with email authors and TE editors and the desire to help us put out a stellar newsletter "all about the dogs" is a must! Previous writing, proofing or editing experience helpful but not required. Interested? We hope so! If you are, please email Louise at isocom@aol.com.

Tales' End - artist

Tale's End seeks talented artist with a sense of OES humor to draw panel cartoon or comic strip for each issue. Just think of the fun you could have! If artist agrees, original cartoon/comic strip artwork would be donated to annual fund-raising auction or picnic raffle to raise money for NEOESR.

Meet & Greet / Educational Road Shows

Are you the type of person who likes to get out and meet and talk with people?  We need you for our Meet & greet Road Shows.  You get to arrange and attend pet events to get our organizational information out to the public as well as educate people about rescued Old English Sheepdogs and provide pertinent information about responsible pet ownership.

Specifially, we are looking for people that are interested in one or more of the following:

1. attending events
2. responding to inquiries from event coordinators and with volunteers who will attend events
3. coordinating the calendar to be posted on the NEOESR website of events that we are attending or know about

Requirements: Ability to chat with people about rescue and Old English Sheepdogs

NEOESR Fund Raising Auction

We are looking for creative and energetic people to help us with our major fund raising event of the year.  Our online auction raises money to help rescue sheepdogs.......  Since we use Ebay for the auction, you don't have to be close to headquarters to help. 

Other areas include:

Marketing - get the word out that we are having an auction

Photography - we need a photographer to photograph all donated items

Creative writer - We need some one that can write up great, interesting descriptions on the items

Graphic Artist

We need a person with artistic & graphics skills to help us with creating designs for our merchandise and event promotions.

Foster Homes

We are ALWAYS looking for foster families. We provide veterinary care for the dog and support for you. You provide a safe, loving environment for the foster dog and help us find his or her forever home.

Requirements: Love of Old English Sheepdogs, patience, a sense of humor

Time Commitments: varies - a few hours, days or weeks

Home Visits

An important step in the NEOESR adoption process is the home check.  You will visit potential adoptive families to ensure that their home enviroment is well matched with an Old English Sheepdog's requirements.  If you have a friendly OES bring him/her with you so the potential adopter REALLY understands what a sheepdog is like.  Complete a home visit checklist.

Transportation

Help NEOESR transport rescue Old English Sheepdgos to foster homes or vet office.

Adoption Follow Up

Contact people who have adopted a dog from NEOESR via phone or email to get updates on the dog and see how he or she is doing.
